In response to the growing sargassum influx affecting Caribbean coastlines, I designed and developed a hybrid environmental sensing system using SolidWorks and a physical prototype. The system monitors sargassum accumulation and water quality by detecting microplastics, toxins, and dissolved oxygen levels, while integrating data from Bluetooth-connected devices for real-time environmental analysis. Powered by sustainable algae-based batteries, the project aims to support early detection and improve coastal management efforts in affected regions.
